Role Overview:
Kerckhoffs Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Engineer to lead the development of AI-driven solutions for managing renewable energy assets. This role involves designing and implementing predictive models, optimising energy systems, and ensuring renewable assets operate efficiently and sustainably throughout their lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • AI-Driven Monitoring:
    Develop and deploy AI models to monitor the health and performance of renewable energy assets, including wind turbines and solar panels, ensuring maximum operational efficiency.
  • Predictive Maintenance Solutions:
    Create machine learning algorithms to predict equipment failures and recommend proactive maintenance schedules, minimising downtime and maintenance costs.
  • Energy Optimisation:
    Use AI and advanced analytics to identify inefficiencies in energy production and recommend strategies to maximise yield and reduce waste.
  • Digital Twin Applications:
    Implement and utilise digital twin technology to simulate energy systems, assess risks, and optimise asset performance over time.
  • Data Analytics and Insights:
    Analyse large datasets from SCADA systems, IoT sensors, and operational logs to identify patterns, inform decision-making, and improve asset management strategies.
  • Lifecycle Management:
    Develop AI-driven tools to support the lifecycle management of renewable energy assets, from installation to decommissioning.
  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with engineering teams, asset managers, and stakeholders to integrate AI solutions into existing workflows seamlessly.

Qualifications:

  • MSc in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, with experience in renewable energy or AI applications.
  • Proven experience with renewable energy systems, particularly wind and solar projects.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience in AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Proficiency in analysing and visualising data using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or matplotlib.
  • Familiarity with digital twin models, IoT sensor data, and SCADA systems in renewable energy applications.
  • Strong knowledge of QA/QC standards, health and safety compliance, and regulatory frameworks in the renewable energy sector.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in large-scale renewable energy installations or projects.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, or Navisworks.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational excellence.

  • This role is open to UK residents, including holders of PSW (Post Study Work) Visas and Skilled Worker Visas.
